Hip Hop for Social Change!!

The Hiphop Declaration of Peace was presented to the United Nations Organization on May 16th 2001. It was signatured by various organizations such as: Temple Of Hip Hop, Ribbons International, UNESCO and also by 300 Hip-Hop activists, pioneers and UN delegates.

In the first place this document recognises Hip-Hop as an international culture of peace and prosperity. It is also a set of principles which advise all Hip-Hoppers on how to sustain the peaceful character of Hip Hop Kulture and to form worldwide peace.

Additionally this declaration is meant to show Hip-Hop as a positive phenomenon which has nothing in common with the negative image of Hip Hop as something that corrupts young people and encourages them to break the law. KRS ONE, Pop Master Fabel, Afrika Bambaataa, Ralph Mc Daniels and Harry Allen were some of the people who had their share in creating the declaration.

The Gospel of Hip Hop: First Instrument, the first book from the I Am Hip Hop imprint launched in the fall of 2009, is the philosophical masterwork of the Teacha “KRS-ONE”. Set in the format of a self-help holy book, this 800-plus-page opus is a spiritual manual for citizens of Hip Hop Kulture that combines classic philosophy with faith and practical knowledge, for a fascinating, in-depth exploration of Hip Hop as a life path. Known as the Teacha, “KRS-ONE” developed his unique outlook as a homeless teen in Brooklyn, New York, engaging his philosophy of self-creation to become one of the most respected emcees in Hip Hop history. As Hip Hop’s true steward, the Teacha “KRS-ONE” painstakingly details the development of the culture and the ways in which we, as “Hiphoppas,” can and should preserve its future.

Currently the Temple Of Hip Hop is structuring the next phase of our 2011 organizational process. As you may have heard the Teacha “KRS-ONE”, has proclaimed that no Temple Member is to be publicly active, with the exception of the Temple Ministas. We are not here to discourage what you are doing in support of the Movement, but we are here to encourage you to stay in communication with us so we can properly implement the most current up-to-date and overall goals dictated by Teacha “KRS-ONE” and the Temple Ministas.

Also we have a MAIN Temple Of Hip Hop Facebook Page has been authorized by Minista Zin Uru and we have begun the process of getting all supporters of the Temple Of Hip Hop to become organized with the current efforts so we can build for the next tasks laid out by Teacha “KRS ONE”.

  • The Teacha “KRS ONE” has proclaimed that no Temple Member is to be publicly active, with the exception of the Temple Ministas.
  • The Teacha “KRS ONE” has informed Minista Zin Uru to instruct all Temple Members who have considered themselves to be Active Temple Members to begin a serious private study with The Gospel Of Hip Hop and stay up to date on all Temple Activity for their continued actions and support within the Movement.
  • We are also collecting pieces for our Hip Hop Preservation Archive and would like anyone who enjoys Hip Hop Kulture to donate an original piece of artwork depicting various elements of this beautiful Kulture, we encourage you to participate in this very important focal point.
Letter From The Minista

Peace and much love,

This is Minista Zin Uru reaching out to the entire Temple of Hip Hop. I would like to take this moment to shed some light on the organization of our collective Inner City. With the assistance of Minista Kidd One, the Temple of Hip Hop will be moving forward in its next phase of development: Our Organization!

We believe it is time for the Temple of Hip Hop to stand up for real and take our selves seriously. We can not afford to burden our Teacha any longer with our own lack of organization. Teacha “KRS-ONE” is far to busy to be constantly involved with something as simple as organizing our membership into a cohesive collective.

We are now focused on bringing all new and current members up to date with our on-going work as the Temple of Hip Hop. It is our goal to bring a more harmonious organizational structure to all of our efforts for the longevity of our Kulture, our community and the day to day efforts of the Hiphoppa.

Our theme for 2010 has been “Order” and as we move in to 2011 we would like to implement this extended ideal of “Order & Action” that has been set in place by Teacha “KRS-ONE” over the course of 2010. As we move ahead in this upcoming year we would like to focus on the following objectives to increase our range and abilities to better assist the Hip Hop community.

  • 10th anniversary of the Hip Hip Declaration Of Peace
  • Hip Hop Appreciation Week
  • Hiphop History Month

With this action we will be helping Teacha “KRS-ONE” to finally move this Kulture in to a more well rounded, effective and efficient, interactive organized movement for 2011.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.. and remember.. we are all in this together.. we look forward to building together!

Peace and Blessings.. and There It Is.
